THE POLAR STORY

My name’s Mike, I’m 27 and I am the founder of Polar Recovery. I was born with Lymphedema, a condition that causes tissue swelling in my legs, which has hospitalised me throughout the years. Alongside my medication, I wanted to find a way to help with the everyday pain and swelling.

I was listening to a podcast with joe rogan and Wim Hof, talking about the benefits of cold water therapy. So I decided to give it a try, that same day I filled up our recycling bin and took the plunge. This quickly became a daily ritual and almost immediately I noticed benefits not only to my physical health, but my mental health as-well. Experiencing these benefits made me want to share this experience and make cold water therapy more accessible for everyone.

After lots of hard work, Polar Recovery was created in early 2022. From my parent's garage (sorry mum & dad) all the way to our now second warehouse, polar recovery has come a long way. We have now sold over 50,000 ice baths worldwide and I couldn’t be more grateful for the community we have built. As a brand we will continue to go above and beyond for our customers and keep pushing the boundaries for cold therapy.
